Probably Johnston McCulley's (February 2, 1883 – November 23, 1958) second most popular character after Zorro. "The Black Star", a criminal mastermind who is pursued by Roger Verbeck-Flagellum and Muggs, a millionaire bachelor and his ex-thug partner. Synopsis
After engineering a daring escape from jail, Black Star emabarks upon a nefarious series of daring robberies to exact revenge on the the city and Sheriff Kowen. Roger Verbeck is once again called upon to assist the police in stopping Black Star and his secretive band of followers.
Proofed and reformatted (fonts, headers, chapter breaks, TOC, etc) and converted to mobi for the Kindle 3.
