Borders uses the standard Adobe Adept DRM. I've purchased about a dozen books there and loaded them to my Sony PRS-505 and have had no problems attributable to the DRM.
I HAVE had a problem with one book that was not formatted correctly and wouldn't open. Kobo Support is looking into it now.
