Rebooting with the SD card removed and then reinserting it shouldn't be toooo hard in the meantime I hope?
Alternatively, keep your Kobo in "Sleep" mode with no poweroff. My charge lasts about two weeks, and that's with a daily Wifi sync for my newspaper fix every morning.
