Similar Error

Have uninstalled and reinstalled, run as user and admin, but still getting the same error.

When attempting to install to a new folder, I'm warned: "Corrupted database. Your calibre database appears to be corrupted. Do you want calibre to try and repair it automatically? If you say No, a new empty calibre library will be created." Details read: "Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\main.py", line 205, in initialize_db
File "site-packages\calibre\library\database2.py", line 137, in __init__

DatabaseException: table authors already exists
RemoteTraceback (most recent call last):

OperationalError: table authors already exists"

When I select "No" and select "C:\ebooks" as the location, I get: "ERROR: Bad database location
Bad database location u'C:/ebooks'. calibre will now quit." The details read: "Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\main.py", line 191, in initialize_db_stage2

WindowsError: [Error 32] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process: u'C:/ebooks\\metadata.db'"
