Solved, alhamdulillah!

If you have this problem, which is likely if you have a sony prs considering the many previous threads I've seen on this problem, here is what you should do:

First, go to cleverpdf or any other quick pdf to epub converter. The one on calibre and others seemed to take forever. Cleverpdf was the only one which was quick and converted the file into a suitable format. Others worked but the epub had various parts rearranged making the file larger for no reason. In short, cleverpdf seems to be the best and quickest pdf to epub converter.

So you now have an epub of the pdf file which was showing blank pages on your ereader. What you do with this epub is go to convertfiles.com and convert it back to pdf. Simply select the epub input option and pdf output option.

The new pdf you have will have a very large white border. Simply use k2pdfopt as usual to remove this and make it suitable for the ereader. The boxes I select are "colour output", "native pdf output", "smart line breaks" and "fast preview". The code that shows after selecting these boxes on k2pdfopt should read "-mode fw-c-ls-".

You are done. You can now upload it onto your sony prs ereader and the blank page problem should be completely gone. All the pages should show (albeit the text quality will be slightly lower than the original due to the conversions, but this is extremely minor and hardly a problem).

Hope this helped.

Edit: You might be wondering why we don't just upload the epub file onto the ereader without converting back to pdf. The reason is that there don't seem to be any page breaks. It simply reads like an extremely large page of a book, so on the page scroll at the bottom of the sony prs, you only see "page 1" written, as if there were only 1 page in the whole book. This means it is impossible to navigate easily through the book and you have to keep turning pages manually until you reach the desired page. No one wants an ebook which only has 1 page!
