I would suggest that get you get your ebooks into Calibre, and then edit the metadata from there. When the metadata is correct then run the conversions to the desired output formats. As was mentioned the conversions are far more likely to be successful starting from the .LIT files - PDF files are likely to be a bit hit-or-miss unless they only have basic formatting.
