reCAPTCHA is a brilliant initiative and i'm glad it's getting more attention. their slogan is "stop spam, read books" which seems like a worthy goal. plus hopefully this will improve google's ocr quality which has been frequently reported as variable at best. i do hope google won't divert it from previous projects though. i'm sure there are enough sites needing bot-protection to go around.
