Couldn't agree more. I was reading an article that said ebooks cost more to produce than pbooks if the original typesetting wasn't saved. Rediculous! There are 100's of thousands of people who would type in books from the pbook if necessary or proofread and format the scanned OCR for a minimal price. Retired people with time on their hands, physically handicapped, or simply readers who want to see the prices drop.
Publishers are simply making hay when the sun shines and who can blame them really.
Some enterprising person should set up an agency to do this for various publishers.
