Kobo do have preview samples. They are downloadable to their ereaders, iOS, Android and Win8 apps and their desktop applications. The desktop applications are available for Windows and Mac. For some reason there isn't a link to the desktop application on their apps page. It is at https://www.kobo.com/desktop.
