My international 3G+WiFi that i received today also has version number 553210206 and refuses to update (I've tried it both before and after jailbreaking)...
And for some reason Kindle won't install the Keyboard Localization hack (deletes the correct .bin), but jailbreak and Screensaver hack were installed without any problem.
