Under some conditions that I haven't yet figured out, it uses
re.compile(r'^(?P<title>[ \S]+?)[ _]-[ _](?P<author>[ \S]+?)_+\d+'))

The default in preferences is '(?P<title>.+) - (?P<author>[^_]+)'
