I saw Black Rain not too long ago when the book was the Book Club's selection for that month. The images are unforgettable.
Getting even further off-topic for this thread, I remember Dave Barry had a completely serious chapter in his otherwise humorous book Dave Barry Does Japan devoted to his trip to Hiroshima. That's the only instance I know of where Dave Barry wrote an entire chapter without attempting to find the lighter side of a situation.
