We can still get books from Amazon (US site), Kobo and (I guess) Sony. But usually if the book is available in Amazon generally, but not available to me in Australia it usually means I'll find the same elsewhere.
As for Australian-specific ebook stores, that's a good question. I think the following two sites might still work even though the stores have mainly folded now:

It also look like there's a google books equivalent for Australia which might be useful going forward. I don't think that used to work for us here:
