Fonts question on nook Color

What fonts can you actually see on the color Nook? I converted a file to epub which has true type fonts. They look great on the e-reader in Calibre, but when I transfer the file to the color Nook you can't see them. It reverts back to the default fonts. Sure, you can switch between publisher and custom but you can't see different fonts.

I'm a newbie to e-readers, Calibre, converting files - all of it so please be gentle.
