As an option, maybe use calibredb??

I use calibredb to export my books into a single flat folder and change the file names

export --progress --all --dont-save-cover --dont-write-opf --format epub --single-dir --template
"{authors}-{series}{series_index:0>2s|[|]-}{title}" --to-dir DestinationFolder

C:\Users\userid\Calibre\Ian Fleming\Casino Royale (1493)\Casino Royale - Ian Fleming.epub

becomes

Ian Fleming-James_Bond[01]-Casino Royale.epub

where the [01] is the series number in my "James_Bond" series

Keeps the calibre blackbox database safe, but give me flexibility

Works for me the way I work anyways
