Several additions/corrections (in no particular order--sorry!)

Charging--you can use a regular Sony PSP charger as well. They are available cheap at anyplace that sells video game accessories. I think this will charge faster than the USB slot.

Memory--you can get 2GB SD cards for under $15, and 4GB Memory Stick Pros for under $40 these days (much better deal than the 8GB size).

Price: $280 w/free ship from Datavision (datavis.com). Tax in NY; dunno about elsewhere.

The 505 definitely supports LRF--it's the "native" format!!!!!

Page turns take less than "several seconds"--maybe one second, if that.
