Now that you've raised the question, I'm interested in people's answers. Being from Vancouver originally, and having spent time there since, I've always thought the place shared a certain overcast sensibility with London, a quality which is often in the humor as well. Then, too, politeness in both countries can border on ostentation (however carefully reticent or dutifully humble), which seems complimentary.
Will Ferguson isn't a travel writer specifically, but he and his brother's notes on Canadian culture do veer closely in satirical books like How to Be a Canadian.
