Using BookDesigner with Multi-lang support is the only way, but you then will be reading just images/pictures of the pages with russian words. There will be no actual text there, just an graphic representation of the page.

The REB1200 internal ROM does not support russian text so unless you can russian-ify the internal ROM (firmware), there is no way to do what you want.
