I just received my new 505 last week and noticed the problem yesterday. It's been flawless
inside, however, the black immediately washes out within seconds when opening it up in direct sunlight. I've seen posts elsewhere about this when I first searched last night but I didn't pay attention. I was thinking that maybe I should try a firmware upgrade first which by the way didn't fix the problem. I'm praying this is fixable as I don't want to part with my reader!!
