Futrelle, Jacques: The Thinking Machine. v1. 8 January 2012

Jacques Futrelle published around 50 of his SFX Van Dusen detective short stories, many of which were never collected into books. One volume - The Thinking Machine - appeared in 1907.

Futrelle was returning to the USA from Europe with his wife May on the Titanic when it struck an iceberg and sank. May survived, but Jacques did not.

This collection is close to the original 1907 collection, but other collections with the same title have been published.

The much-anthologized The Problem of Cell 13 is included in this collection of 7 longish short stories.
