Try a larger value than the default (the default is 0.006) for -gtr, like 0.2. (gtr = Gap Threshold for Rows.) See the attached screenshot. This makes k2pdfopt more likely to separate rows of text even when they are crowded together. The drawback is that too high of a value might separate images or figures incorrectly, but if you don't have any images or figures, you can set this to a higher value without much drawback.
