You can process files on your hard drive, but you should recreate following directory tree:

Code:
Kindle  –
         |
          – documents
         |
          – system –
                    |
                     – thumbnails
So if above Kindle dir is on C:\ fire: ExtractCoverThumbs.exe c:\Kindle
