I was already irritated with the quality of copyediting in books long before I started reading on an iPad. Seems like sometime in the 90s publishers just didn't want to spend the money anymore to get things really right.
For me, the wonder of the iPad is being able to read in bed at night with the light off, iPad propped up on a pillow, and fall asleep. Well, that and traveling without carrying 10 pounds of books with me.
