Hi Blue2u, no probs for me re eyestrain. I use the app Book Reader for EPUB and Kindle Books, and Sepia setting.

The Playbook battery lasts about 10 to 12 hours depending on what else you might be doing on it as well as reading, eg emails, sms, and internet.
