help with saving template having multiple authors?

Hello Calibre aficionados,

I came across a broken link in calibre2opds and it seems that I am unable to set up my calibre saving template correctly.
The template looks like this:
{author}/{title} ({id})/{title} - {authors}

However, if a book has multiple authors, the resulting folder is:
.../Steven D. Levitt & Stephen J. Dubner
Now those multiple author names cause calibre2opds links to malfunction.
Now my question: when having books with multiple authors
1) Is the calibre recomm to separate them with "&" still valid?
2) How to formulate the saving template properly so as to avoid multiple names in the resulting folder structure?
As always, thanks a lot for your help and happy reading!
