This is a truly horrible device.
I bought mine to replace my BeBook which died.
The Binatone doesn't behave as per the manual from square one. When charger plugged in no orange LED to show charging, like the manual says, device just powers up.
.txt files produced by calibre don't always display properly. I don't understand this. Some files convert others not. Perhaps it is due to the presence of certain characters, or formatting in the source file. The device only seems to understand one 'flavour' of .txt encoding. Unfortunately I can't find out which ! Is it Unicode, ASCII, ANSI, UTF8 etc. each one produces different results on the Binatone.
I have tried using MS Word 2007 to convert to different type of .txt but can't get consistent results.
It's going back. I've had enough after a week.
