I've done this in the past and as Harry says as long as the file name is unique there is no issue. The only thing is that both versions will look the same as far as book cover and title, and that can make selecting a specific version a bit tricky. Since you are modifying the book anyway, you can always change the title to something like "[title]: Revised" or something similar to make the one you revised pop out a bit. I used to edit books like this all the time to bold the text, and so I would rename them to "[title]: Bold".
