I just started reading
Shikasta this morning.
It is a series about alien entities using ancient earth as a testing ground (so far anyway). From the reviews I read the series does not have to be read in order and the first book is supposedly the driest of them.
I was pleasantly suprised to find my local library contains the entire series!
