If I was still in Industry, I'd have one of these for PDFs and annotating PDFS. Especially if the office was paying for it.
It doesn't compete with a Kobo Libra for epubs and unless you have a massive amount of mono PDFs to get through, it can't compete with a decent 10" LCD Android tablet at about 1/3rd price.
