If by nice someone means the generally higher editing standards of the Patricia Clark library, these titles -- both by authors who died in 1950 -- won't meet the life + 70 public domain standard of Mobileread (or the European Union, or Japan, or almost all of South America) until 2021.

However, I think you are correct that they are currently public domain in the United States.
