Something that has come up since launch is that the SD volumes are not natively accessible from the apps like video, music etc because windows doesnt out of the box index removable storage. You have go to the sd volume and click the item you want played etc.
This has been "fixable" for years in previous Windows versions using a 'junction point' and the same changes work here on Surface RT as well.
