Those puzzle me a bit. In general, picture books tend to be passed around, kind of like baby carriages and cribs. You use it for a year or two, then give it to someone you know who have kids that age, so I wouldn't have pegged them for big library books. Of course, they are favorites for teachers and librarians reading to a group of kids.

At that age, kids like repetition and familiarity, not new. I got dinged trying to read the Three Little Pigs to my nephew and niece because I didn't read it at all like Grandpa did.
