yeah, that's certainly possible.
if you bring up the config options by pressing the gear like icon, and navigate to 'styles', there's an option for changing the 'Family', where you can set the font. The iliad comes with only a limited set of fonts. There are instructions
here on how to add new truetype fonts to your iliad, which are selectable in FBReader.
