I had the same problem, and sent it back for checking - (took 4 weeks for Bookeen to actually reply with return instructions). 5 weeks and 4 prompting emails later I was told it was a controller problem, and as I had owned the cybook for 15 months, it was out of warranty. They asked me to forward 135 euros to fix the problem. The cybook costs 200 euros new! Having used my cybook for 15 months I have effectively rented it for 10 euros per month. Absolutely farcical. I loved it as an ebook, but please everyone, search the forums, there are hundreds and hundreds of cybook users in the same boat. They continue to sell a flawed product. Buy one at your peril. I'm no Amazon affiliate, but at least they replace Kindles overnight.
