You are correct the current hardware does not support Multi-touch thus rendering most of the UI enhancements of Honeycomb useless. You Could install 3.0 on this device given enough tweaking but it would be like installing Ubuntu 10.10 on a i386 gen. computer (slow as paint drying). I think it is just wishful thinking.
