Both the
source and the
translation by Sir Richard Francis Burton (1821 – 1890) of this very short, adult-themed story from the Arabian Nights (AKA 1001 Nights, Alf Laylah wa Laylah) are long out of copyright.
This is a bilingual Arabic-English ebook with interlinked Arabic and English sentences. I.e. if you cannot figure out a particular Arabic sentence, you can click on the hyperlink at the beginning of the sentence to jump to the corresponding English translation.
This ebook is primarily intended for intermediate to advanced Arabic students who are interested in classical Arabic.
BTW, you can download Burton's complete ebook from
eBooks@Adelaide. (Click on the tiny PDA icon on the right side.)
This is a KF8 mobi file. I.e. you can only read it with a Kindle device with KF8 support.
If you have a jailbroken Kindle 3, you can also install the
fbKindle ePub reader and read the
ePub version. (Coolreader does not support RTL text.)
EDIT: Since the original version caused layout issues on K3s with firmware 3.4, I added a special version for K3s. I also changed the language code to Arabic.
