Alan Dean Foster has put out a couple of short story anthologies recently. I highly recommend both! Titles are The Taste of different Dimensions and The Flavors of Other Worlds. His writing is good but his concepts are brilliant! In case anyone isn't familiar with him, he's one of the old scifi greats.
