Knox, Ronald A: Studies in the Literature of Sherlock Holmes, v.1, 12 November 2008.

Monsignor Ronald A. Knox (1888–1957)
Studies in the Literature of Sherlock Holmes (1911)

This paper was first presented to the Gryphon Club in 1911 and then published in The Blue Book Magazine in 1912. Monsignor Knox included the paper in his Essays in Satire in 1928.

It was a seminal document in Sherlockian Studies, applying the methods of Biblical and literary criticism of the day. Monsignor Knox also wrote detective stories (we have one on this site) and works of Christian apologetics.
