in the log. That means something is preventing calibre from opening a connection. And antivirus programs are updated silently in the background every day. That your antivirus program did not cause problems x days ago doesn't mean it cant be causing problems now.
As it turned out it was the internet security program.. I completely uninstalled it and reverted back to ESET.

Everything is working like charm again.
