I suggest you check the FAQs at github. They seem to have been updated at the same time as 6.6.2 was released.

In particular, the new line

"Do NOT use Kindle for PC/Mac version 1.25 or later. The tools don't current[sic] work with those versions."

Not very grammatical, but clear enough, I think.
