Hi, thank you ever so much for your answer. And yes, you were right: my computer switched to standby mode. And this is my problem. I really don't know how to avoid that (And normally I am not this ignorant). I don't want it to switch to standby. I had to work unabruptedly on my pc for 5 hours the day after in order to charge my Sony Reader.
And, yes, I have an additional wall charger: the one I use with my Mac. I was hoping that this one could be used to charge the e-book as well ...
Another question: I am Norwegian (live in Italy though), and I have bought this e-book to avoid bringing back and forth tuns of books. The problem that I've turned out to be a complete idiot (also) when it comes to downloading books. I wanted some Norwegian and Danish ones. One Norwegian I've bought on
www.bokkilden.no. Now I don't know where to find it on my computer. And if I find it, I surely won't be able to get it over to my Sony ..
But I'm proud of my homepage

Ok, two guesses: - Perhaps your computer switched to standby mode after some minutes and in standby mode the USB-devices will not be supplied with enough power for charging.
- In rare cases, when the reader's battery is completely empty, some devices won't charge over USB. (Happens with my Sony PRS-505 too from time to time) Do you have a additional wall charger?
