I'm not sure what the long-term viability of Kindle hardware is, but I'd be shocked if Amazon didn't remain the biggest e-book seller.

They've been very wise to put Kindle apps out for PCs, MACs, iPad/iPhone/iTouch, Blackberries, Android etc.

With the biggest selection and often the lowest price on mainstream titles, they're set up nicely to become the e-book store of choice for casual e-reader fans. The more hardcore, anti-drm crowd on sites like this will resist them. But like any hobby, the enthusiast crowd on sites like this have little to no say on what becomes the market leader--the mainstream casuals determine that.
