Each publisher attempts to get you to pay for deeper access to their current or past content, by teasing you with lead in news articles. However, in the case of Rolling Stone magazine, you could have bought their entire archive from 1967-2007 for a mere $15:

They must think the average person is asleep at the keyboard! Try a little harder, like Playboy magazine. They know how to suck money from subscribers.
