Epub is a standard unrelated to DRM. An EPub document with no attached DRM is freely portable between devices. There is no concept of an Adobe ID for an EPub document without DRM. The Adobe ID is only for DRM. It is the key, if you will.
Sony and BN implement DRM - differently. Today books with DRM can not port freely between Sony and Nook.
