Dreamwriter thanks for the solution.
I simply took the Calibre-created mobi format and created a new title...
when it is complete, a viewer window appears and I was able to check the entire book.
Its funny, with all the posts here and on amazon, I haven't seen a simple statement until now that says upload your mobi to kindle.
