Alcott, Louisa May: Moods, LIT v1, 7 December 2009.

Louisa May Alcott
(1832–1888)
Moods (1864)

A young woman is dominated by whims and moods, so makes some rather poor decisions, including marrying the wrong man.
The novel is allegedly loosely based on the author’s youthful experiences: the two suitors being based on Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry Thoreau. It was considered rather daring for allowing the topic of divorce to be discussed.
Miss Alcott later revised the novel (1882). This is the original version (1864) and includes the original illustrations.
