If you search amazon for DX, the listing shows the list price $299 crossed out. It shows used price "from $280", with used DX kindles selling for a lot more than the $299 list price...

And it is no longer listed in the main kindle page anymore, as reported.

Interesting that list price is less than most of the used prices...
