They are still doing it. Takes weeks of perservation to get account unblocked.
How much alleged gift card fraud is simply Google refusing to credit the purchaser of a valid card?

They won't say why an account is blocked once they admit the card is valid. Get the two receipts from the gift card giver or you can never redeem it.
