@Krazykiwi: try this.
1) Exit calibre
2) Disconnect both iDevices
3) Connect iPad
4) Open iTunes, confirm settings as in post #1
5) Launch calibre
6) Confirm you have the most recent driver installed (0.0.4)
Does calibre show the connected iDevice? If so, you should be good to go.
