I just put up a long post about Copia's free ebooks in the "Deals, Freebies, and Resources" section. It's not obvious from Copia's site, but the books are readable on the Nook and other readers that use Adobe DRM.

Short version is that they're offering 7 free solid modern classics (not public domain) and 15 free Harlequin romances for all new users. The modern classics are:

A Passage To India - E. M. Forster
Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
Red Alert - Peter George (the novel "Dr. Strangelove" was based on)
Shoeless Joe - W. P. Kinsella (the novel "Field of Dreams" was based on)
Slaughterhouse-Five - Kurt Vonnegut
The Graduate - Charles Webb
Midnight Cowboy - James Leo Herlihy
